Carrsview Murray Grey is situated in Mount Torrens, in picturesque Adelaide Hills. We currently run a herd of approximately 70 breeding females across two properties.

Our stud began with the purchase of a small group of commercial females from the Redaway bloodlines. In 2014, we further strengthened our program with the purchase of a Murray Grey bull and six stud heifers from Fairview Ridge Murray Grey Stud in Hahndorf, South Australia. Following many discussions with Geoff and Julie of Fairview Ridge, we established Carrsview Murray Greys as a registered stud in 2016.

We chose the Murray Grey breed for their exceptional docility and proven performance in the Adelaide Hills environment. Over the years, we have continued to invest in quality genetics, purchasing registered females from leading studs across Australia, including Woodbourn (TAS), Glenliam Farm (NSW), and Lindsay Murray Greys (VIC). Each year, a selected group of females is joined through AI to further enhance and diversify our genetics.

Despite being significantly impacted by the 2019 Cuddlee Creek fires, we have rebuilt and moved forward with a strong focus on the future. Our goals are not only continued success in the show ring, but also the breeding of outstanding stud bulls and females that add genuine value to commercial herds. We aim to produce low birth weight, high growth animals, using a combination of Breedplan data, actual performance, structural soundness, and temperament to guide our breeding and selection decisions.
